The Yorkshire Peat Partnership is a non-for-profit organisation dedicated to restoring degraded peat bog habitats in upland areas throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Nidderdale AONB and the North York Moors National Park. Peat bogs are a vital habitat for some of the UK’s rarest species of plant and animals as well as a major carbon sink and the source of much of our drinking water. Since 2012 we have been using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) alongside other sophisticated remote sensing technologies in order to create data that aids us to restore and monitor these precious habitats.
